Fomrer boxing champion George Kambosos does not believe Ryan Garcia has his head screwed on straight.

Garcia will challenge Devin Haney for the IBF welterweight title on Saturday, April 20. The bout headlines an event from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Going into a bout with an unbeaten fighter, Kambosos feels as if Garcia does not stand much of a chance. In fact, he is predicting an early end to the marquee bout.

“You don’t go into a fight against (Haney) with those kinds of antics,” Kambosos said in an interview with Fighthype (thanks to Boxing News 24 for the quotes). “You don’t go into a fight against a guy like Devin Haney, who prepares 110 percent and is super focus and has a great team around him.”

Kambosos, who has twice shared the ring with Haney, admits he is a fan of Garcia but is supporting Haney.

“Devin will win that fight,” he said. “I believe he will stop him. I think Ryan is a good kid. He’s confused at times. He’s telling everybody he made $100 million.

“As much as I like Ryan, my support is to Devin. He will get the job done in that fight.”

George Kambosos Has Experience Facing Devin Haney

The 30-year-old Kambosos met Haney for the first time in Australia back in 2022. He lost the WBA (super), IBF, WBO and The Ring lightweight titles that night via decision.

A few months later, the current champion was bested once again by Haney via decision for the titles in Australia. Since that loss, he has downed Maxi Hughes for the IBO lightweight crown.
