One of Penn State Wrestling’s best talents will be back with the team next season to help them attempt a rare National Championship four-peat.

There is no better program in the nation right now than Penn State Wrestling. In March, they showed their continued dominance as the school took home a third straight “natty” as four members of their team — Levi Haines, Carter Starocci, Greg Kerkvliet, and Aaron Brooks — took home titles at this year’s National Championship.

The program had eight competitors reach the podium at the end of the night, but one star who came up just short of his championship goals was senior Beau Bartlett. The 141-pounder fell to the No. 1 man ranked in the country, Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez, by decision. It was a sting that surely felt even worse since he lost to Mendez in the Big-10 championship as well (also by a score of 4-1).

That is why it should come as no surprise when it was reported on Monday that Bartlett was expected to return to the Penn State Wrestling program next season to aid the team as they try to go for the third four-peat in school history.

Bartlett later confirmed the news to “Baschamania” podcast host Justin Basch, telling him “In the words of Mitchell Mesenbrink ‘LET’S WRESTLE.'”

Beau Bartlett went 24-2 for the No. 1 ranked Nittany Lions in 2024 and finished No. 2 in the nation. Despite being a senior he has one year of eligibility left due to wrestling being shut down in 2020 during the pandemic.

Champions Carter Starocci and Greg Kerkvliet also have a year of eligibility left but have not revealed if they will use it.
