There was an injury scare for AEW star Wardlow during the Wednesday, January 31 edition of Dynamite, and WNZ has an update for fans.
Wardlow Injury Update
Wardlow faced Komander during last night’s AEW Dynamite. The former TNT Champion was dominant during the entire bout and ended up victorious.
He hit a powerbomb on his opponent during the match. The AEW star’s leg buckled, and he seemed to be limping after the fact.
When AEW Dynamite went off the air, he provided an update on things, via X/Twitter. As you can see from the above tweet, Wardlow notes that “A normal man’s knee would be ruined. I’m no normal man. I’m still coming for the heavyweight title. And there’s nothing and no one that can stop me. Knee is just fine”.
Report On Wardlow’s Injury Scare
Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez chat about Wardlow and his injury scare during their latest Wrestling Observer Radio update. Interestingly enough, Alvarez notes that while the AEW talent is “saying” he’s “fine” on social media, Brian’s been told he’s not.
Dave Meltzer also states that he’s been told the wrestler is hurt, too. Alvarez chimes in to say that he’s been told Wardlow is getting checked out “tomorrow”. He goes on to say that it possibly could be a torn meniscus, but that the talent “dodged a bullet” and it isn’t much worse.
Alvarez states the wrestler will probably be ok. Still, he also notes that Wardlow is “definitely” not fine, something is wrong, and he’s being checked out.
It’ll be interesting to see how much time, if any, Wardlow needs to take off to recover from this potential injury. Wardlow became All Elite in 2019, debuting on the November 13 edition of Dynamite. He’d move on to have a stellar run as TNT Champion.
The AEW star is currently part of the Undisputed Kingdom led by Adam Cole. On behalf of everyone here, if Wardlow is injured, we hope his recovery is quick and smooth.
