Jake Paul will return to the squared circle in March against Ryan Bourland.
Paul confirmed his opponent for an event in El Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. The card airs live on DAZN March 2 with the bout being the co-main event.
“The goal is simple,” Paul said in announcing the fight. “Build the skillset to become world champion. Next up is a guy who has twice as many professional fights under his belt than I do.
“Ryan ‘The Rhino’ Bourland. And just like the animal in his bone chilling nickname… he is also endangered.”
Paul improved to 8-1 in December when he knocked out Andre August in the first round. He also scored a decision over Nate Diaz last year after losing to Tommy Fury in February.
Overall, he is 8-1 with wins over former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. Paul also bested Ben Askren in the boxing ring.
Bourland owns a record of 17-2 and has picked up three consecutive victories. He earned a knockout over Santario Martin in his most recent fight, which came in September 2022.
In the main event, Amanda Serrano defends her IBF, WBO and WBA featherweight titles against Nina Meinke.
“On Saturday, March 2 as co-main event to the Puerto Rican GOAT, Amanda Serrano, I’m fighting for experience,” Paul said. “And to show my love to the island I call home I’ll be donating my entire fight purse to my nonprofit Boxing Bullies to help renovate gyms across (Puerto Rico).”
