Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is set for his second boxing match later this year.
Ngannou, who is signed to the PFL roster, will take on ex-champion Anthony Joshua. The bout is set for March 8 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
From there, it appears Ngannou has his sights set on a rematch with Tyson Fury.
“I win this fight, I’m fighting (Fury), period,” Ngannou said during an appearance on The MMA Hour (thanks to MMANews.com for the quotes). “I don’t want that political stuff with the titles.
If the titles are on the line, no strings attached, then yes, I’ll grab it. It’s good for decoration.”
Francis Ngannou-Tyson Fury Highlights
Fury, the reigning WBC champion, will take on Oleksandr Usyk in February. Usyk is the current holder of the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring heavyweight titles.
That bout will also take place from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom Arena.
Late last year, Fury made his boxing debut with a close decision loss to Fury. Many believed the MMA standout won the bout, knocking Fury down once.
As for his MMA return, Ngannou is expected to see that take place in 2024 under the PFL banner.
