Coming into the bout, Jake Paul promised to deliver.
And that is what he did Friday night.
Paul knocked out Andre August in the first round of their main event boxing match, delivering for the fans inside the Caribe Royal in Orlando, Florida.
The stoppage came at 2:32 live on DAZN pay-per-view.
“I said first round knockout all week,” Paul proclaimed. “I manifested this. This is the power of manifestation. I said I needed to bring back the old ‘Problem Child.’
“I’ve been too nice to these guys, letting them go to the later round. I don’t know what I proved, I’m just going to do me. This is part of the process, the next step to becoming world champion.”
Paul added that he “wanted to do was give y’all a knockout for Christmas.”
August entered with a 10-1-1 record, but had fought just once over the last four years. With the win, Paul improved to 8-1 overall with two straight wins since a loss to Tommy Fury earlier this year by split decision.
Logan Paul Discusses A Major Spot
Previously, Paul earned wins over former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley (twice), along with ex-Bellator champion Ben Askren and former NBA player Nate Robinson among his first eight fights.
After the loss to Fury, he picked up an August decision over Nate Diaz is in most high-profile bout to date.
“More prospects,” Paul said of his future. “More experience. More time in the ring under the bright lights. If the big money fights come, I’ve got smoke for them too.”
The card also featured a decision win by Franchon Crews-Dezurn over Shadasia Green, while Yoenis Tellez and Lorenzo Media earned knockout wins.
