Welcome to the latest UFC results, as the Octagon set up shop for a ninth time in Sao Paulo, Brazil for UFC Fight Night 231. Also known as UFC on ESPN+ 89 or UFC Fight Night: Almeida vs. Lewis. In the headline bout, heavyweights Jailton Almeida and Derrick Lewis squared off from inside the Ginasio do Ibirapuera. All the action streamed live on ESPN+. Now, on to the latest UFC results.

UFC Results: Jailton Almeida Controls Derrick Lewis

It was a homecoming for Jailton Almeida, as he spoiled the first fight back for Derrick Lewis on his new contract.

Almeida, a Brazilian native, scored a one-sided decision over the former title contender. The 32-year-old is now 20-2 overall, 6-0 with the UFC and on a 15-fight win streak.

Almeida used his wrestling and grappling to dominate the first two rounds, taking Lewis down and keeping him there. In the third, Lewis was able to land some heavy blows before once again finding himself on the canvas fighting to survive.

The co-main event saw Nicolas Dalby impose his will on Gabriel Bonfim, scoring a second round finish after landing a knee. Dalby improved to 23-4-1, earning his fourth consecutive win as he continues to climb the welterweight ladder.

In another heavyweight affair, Rodrigo Nascimento bested Don’Tale Mayes. Nascimento was declared the winner on all three scorecards in the bout.

UFC Results: Elves Brener Makes A Statement

With just under a minute to go in the first round, Elves Brener scored a knockout.

Brener caught Kaynan Kruschewsky in a catchweight contest, kicking off the main card with an impressive win.

Caio Borralho downed Abus Magomedov via decision in a middleweight contest.

UFC Results: Pair Of Prelim Finishes

Both VItor Petrino and Eduarda Moura were winners by knockout during the prelim portion of the card. Petrino stopped Modestas Bukauskas in a light heavyweight affair and Moura downed Montserrat Ruiz in a catchweight contest.

The night started off with a split decision by Marc Diakiese over Kau Fernandes. Angela Hill earned a hard-fought decision vs. Denise Gomes and a bout between Rinat Fakhretdinov and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos was declared a majority draw.

What’s Next

UFC 295 takes place next Saturday night from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Fight fans were all set to watch Jon Jones defend his heavyweight title against former champion Stipe Miocic, but Jones suffered an injury in training and the bout was scrapped.

In the main event now will be a fight between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira for the vacant light heavyweight title. Also, Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall meet for the interim heavyweight title.

Other main card bouts include Mackenzie Dern vs. Jessica Andrade, Matt Frevola vs. Benoit Saint-Denis and Diego Lopes vs. Pat Sabatini.
