Ric Flair is now part of the AEW roster and we are learning new information about the contract he signed, which is different than most deals.
Details On Ric Flair Signing AEW Contract
Last month, Sting confirmed plans for his retirement. He will continue to wrestle for a few more months, before officially calling it a career at Revolution 2024.
While that is still months away, it seems like AEW will use that time to highlight Sting and his long history in pro wrestling. Tony Khan promised a huge surprise last week and it was certainly shocking.
As Sting stood in the ring, a familiar sound played and out came Ric Flair. For those who only starting watching around the year 2000, they do not know how much history Sting and Flair have together.
They wrestled countless times and in some of the greatest matches ever seen. In fact, they wrestled each other in last match in WCW history.
Flair came to the ring and cut a promo. Considering how Flair is so great at taking, the promo felt flat.
Still, Sting seemed so happy to see his foe turned friend inside the ring. For some, the idea of Flair appearing on AEW TV was questionable.
It seemed like Flair was set to join before Dark Side Of The Ring aired the episode about the infamous airplane ride for WWE. Several wrestlers were punished for their behavior, which included an intoxicated Flair getting handsy.
Flair has arrived and for the foreseeable future. AEW confirmed he signed a multi-year.
It will see the WWE Hall of Famer appear and his “Wooooo! Energy,” drink is now AEW’s official sponsor. The drink is mixed with mushrooms, which is designed to help the body and mind heal.
Fair competed last summer in what was his final match. Hopefully, we do not see Flair vs Sting since their age is around 130 when combined.
So, did AEW make the right call by having Ric Flair join their roster?
