Bellator 301: Jason Jackson Wants To Beat The Best

Bellator 301

Bellator 301 provides Jason Jackson his shot at glory, taking on Yaroslav Amosov for the welterweight title. The event takes place Friday night live on Showtime from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

For Jason Jackson, getting the opportunity to call himself the best in the world means going through Yaroslav Amosov.

That is how the top contender is approaching this Friday night and Bellator 301.

Jackson challenges Amosov for the welterweight title live on Showtime in the main event from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

The 33-year-old from Jamaica has reeled off six consecutive wins, including a victory last year over former champion Douglas Lima. He has also downed the likes of Paul Daley, Neiman Gracie and Benson Henderson.

Amosov is a perfect 27-0 with a recent title unification win over Logan Storley, a teammate of Jackson’s. He has also bested Lima, Ed Ruth and Erick Silva since joining Bellator.

Bellator 301: Jason Jackson Has Been A Champion Before

Back in 2016, Jackson captured the Victory Fighting Championship welterweight title when he finished Victor Moreno in his seventh pro fight with a first round TKO. A few short months later, he captured the TItan FC crown in the same division with a first round finish of Dhiego Lima, the brother of Douglas Lima.

After that, he suffered a loss due to injury while competing on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017. The next year, he joined Bellator for a bout before returning to Legacy Fighting Alliance and winning that title in 2019 over Hemerson Souza.

Bellator 301 Fight Card

Along with the Amosov vs. Jackson championship match, Sergio Pettis and Patchy Mix collide at Bellator 301 to unify the bantamweight belts. The lightweight world grand prix semifinals will see Patricky Pitbull and Alexandr Shabily collide along with main card bouts between Raufeon Stotts and Danny Sabatello and A.J. McKee and Sidney Outlaw.

Tyrell Fortune vs. Marcelo Golm, Denise Kielholtz vs. Sumiko Iaba and Cody Law are other fighters scheduled for the prelims, which air on YouTube and Pluto TV.
