Welcome to the latest UFC results, as the Octagon set up shop from the Apex in Las Vegas Saturday night. All the action aired live on ESPN+ with lightweights Bobby Green and Grant Dawson squaring off in the main event. Now, let us get to the UFC results.
UFC Results: Bobby Green Destroys Grant Dawson
Bobby Green proved the old veteran still has some tricks up his sleeve, halting the run of Grant Dawson Saturday night. The lightweight bout was the featured attraction of UFC Fight Night 229 from Las Vegas and the Apex, with all the action airing live on ESPN+.
Green connected on Dawson just 33 seconds into the scheduled five-round affair, ending it with a thunderous punch. The 37-year-old “King” made it two-straight with the win, adding to his July submission victory vs. Tony Ferguson.
Overall, Green is now 31-14-1 with a no-contest, including a three-fight unbeaten streak. He is 4-2 with a no-contest over his last seven.
For Dawson, this was just the second loss of his career and the first since signing with the UFC. His 12-fight unbeaten streak was snapped in the process.
In the co-main event, Joe Pyfer picked up a second round technical submission win vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan. Pyfer locked in an arm-triangle choke for the victory.
Joaquin Buckley, Drew Dober and Bill Algeo were other main card winners. Buckley score da decision, Dober a TKO and Algeo a decision.
UFC Results: Four Decisions Among Prelim Action
Four of the five prelim fights went to the scorecards, as only Nate Maness picked up a finish.
Maness downed Mateus Mendonca in a flyweight fight when he connected late in the first round.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Vanessa Demopoulos, Aori Qileng and JJ Aldrich were all winners by unanimous decision.
A light heavyweight fight between Ion Cutelaba and Philipe Lins was scratched the day of the card for unknown reasons.
