Roman Kopylov has been on a roll since 2021, reeling off three consecutive finishes for the UFC. He returns to action this weekend at Noches UFC against Josh Fremd in a featured prelim affair.
Roman Kopylov Has Been On A Finish Streak For UFC
One of the featured preliminary fights this Saturday at Noches UFC will see Roman Kopylov take on Josh Fremd in the middleweight division.
The bout is part of the event from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas that airs entirely on ESPN+. In the headline fight, Alexa Grasso defends her women’s flyweight title against former champion Valentina Shevchenko.
For Kopylov, this is another opportunity to secure his standing in the middleweight division.
The 32-year-old from the Soviet Union has won each of his last three fights by finish, pushing his overall record to 11-2. He has gone 3-2 with the UFC, rebounding from back-to-back defeats in his first two fights.
This past July at UFC 291, Kopylov topped Claudio Ribeiro with a head-kick knockout in the second round. That came on the heels of a January “Performance of the Night” win with a finish of Punahele Soriano in Las Vegas.
Kopylov kicked off his run in 2022 with a third round knockout of Alessio Di Chirico in Paris. Of his 11 career wins, 10 have come by knockout.
Prior to joining the UFC, Kopylov won the middleweight title for Fight Nights Global in his home country of Russia. He defended the belt once, a fourth round finish, to begin his career 8-0 overall.
In his Octagon debut, though, he was submitted by Karl Roberson in the third round in Moscow, Russia. He also fell to Albert Duraev by decision in 2021 but has been a man on a mission since.
