Dana White Contender Series Results Features Five Contracts Awarded
Five fighters secured future UFC contracts during Week 5 action of Dana White’s Contender Series Tuesday night.
The action aired live on ESPN+ from the Apex in Las Vegas.
In the main event, Brendson Ribeiro finished Bruno Lopes as an underdog. Riberio earned the knockout midway through the first round.
Along with Ribeiro, Dione Barbosa, Jean Silva, Dylan Budka and Serhiy Sidey were all awarded contracts.
Sidey topped Ramon Taveras with a first round finish. However, it appeared the strikes were illegal and UFC president Dana White announced Taveras would be given another chance to impress.
Budka picked up a decision win over Chad Hanekom, Silva topped Kevin Vallejos and Barbosa submitted Rainn Guerrero.
The next event is set for next Tuesday night with Jhonata Diniz and Eduardo Neves in the main event. Diniz was a kickboxer before transitioning to MMA and has won his first five fights inside the cage.
