Reigning super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and his opponent, undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, made their official arrivals in Las Vegas ahead of this weekend.

Alvarez is set to defend his undisputed belts against Charlo live on Showtime pay-per-view from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This marks the first-ever matchup in the four-belt era of two reigning undisputed champions taking to the ring to square off.

Alvarez, 33 years old, scored a second consecutive decision this past May when he retained his titles against John Ryder. He also bested Gennady Golovkin back in 2022 after a loss that same year to light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

Overall, Alvarez is 57-2-2 in his career with the other loss coming from a 2013 majority decision defeat to Floyd Mayweather.

“I feel the love and support from my people and I’m proud to represent my country,” Alvarez said. “I am 100% right now and ready to show you a different Canelo on Saturday. Charlo is a great fighter who knows how to box. He is strong and has nothing to lose. He came to my division to win it all. But I’ve been in this position for a long time and I’m ready.”

The 33-year-old Charlo was set to defend his WBO title against Tim Tszyu, but worked it so that he could face Alvarez instead. Overall, he is 35-1-1 in his career and coming off a 10th-round knockout title defense vs. Brian Castano in 2022.

“These fans think Canelo is the best in the world, but I’m going to come here and show that I’m the best,” Charlo said. “I do this for the dogs, the hungry ones. I do it for the animals. I’m made for this. After I beat Canelo, the world will be screaming ‘Charlo, Charlo!’ You dig? Now it’s my turn, my time, my moment.

“I’m going to shine on Saturday night. We can’t talk about it; we have to be about it. Come fight night, you’ll all see what that means.”
