Savannah Marshall Latest To Join PFL Fighter Roster

Boxing world champion Savannah Marshall is the latest combat sports athlete to join the ever-growing PFL fighter roster. Marshall, the super middleweight champion, will be part of the PFLW launch alongside Claressa Shields, Kayla Harrison, Amanda Serrano and Larissa Pacheco.

Savannah Marshall Joins PFL Fighter Roster

The PFL has signed super middleweight boxing world champion Savannah Marshall, the promotion announced.

Marshall, a native of the United Kingdom, joins the PFLW alongside the likes of Claressa Shields, Kayla Harrison, Amanda Serrano and Larissa Pacheco.

Marshall and Shields squared off with one another in one of the biggest female boxing fights in history in 2022, as over 2 million tuned in to watch.

“I want to welcome two-time boxing world champion, Savannah Marshall to the Professional Fighters League,” said Peter Murray, PFL CEO. “It’s an exciting time for PFL as we officially launch PFLW, and the addition of Savannah Marshall strengthens the best global roster of women in combat sports.

“PFLW is committed to the empowerment and equality of all female athletes and provides a dedicated platform for women to become PFL MMA champions.”

In the creation of PFLW, the Professional Fighters League renews their commitment to empowering and leveling the playing field for women in combat sports. PFLW will strive for equality in and out of the PFL SmartCage.

“I am thrilled to begin my journey in MMA with The Professional Fighters League,” Marshall said. “I am proud to join the most talented female combat sports athletes in the world and continue to raise the profile of women in sports through PFLW.”

The third and final event of the PFL playoffs takes place Wednesday live on ESPN and ESPN+ from The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Savannah Marshall Fight Resume

A champion in both the super middleweight and middleweight divisions, Marshall became the first British world champion when she claimed gold at the 2012 World Championships.

She is widely regarded as the second best female middleweight in the world behind only Shields.

Marshall also won silver and bronze at the World Championships and gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2014. She qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics before signing with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his promotion a year later.

Her professional debut came on the undercard of the event featuring Mayweather and former UFC champion Conor McGregor.

Marshall won the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring super middleweight titles this past July with a decision win over Franchon Crews-Dezurn.
