UFC 290: Bo Nickal New Opponent, Embedded Series Returns

Rising prospect Bo Nickal has a new opponent for this Saturday at UFC 290. Nickal will now face fellow unbeaten fighter Val Woodburn. The event takes place from Las Vegas and features a pair of championship matches, so the promotion has rolled out the Embedded series.

Rising prospect Bo Nickal has a new opponent for UFC 290, as the unbeaten fighter will now take on Val Woodburn.

UFC 290 takes place Saturday night from Las Vegas and the T-Mobile Arena.

Nickal was scheduled to meet Tresean Gore to kick-start the ESPN+ pay-per-view main card, but Gore was forced out with an injury.

Woodburn accepted the fight as he was preparing to compete on the upcoming return of Dana White’s Contender Series in August. He is currently 7-0 as a professional fighter.

Nickal, a former three-time NCAA champion with Penn State University, made his Octagon debut in March and submitted Jamie Pickett. He sports a record of 4-0 entering the bout.

UFC 290 Embedded, Episode One

Hollywood icon Mel Gibson makes an appearance as the Embedded series returns for UFC 290. Gibson joins reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski as he prepares to unity his title with Yair Rodriguez.

The episode also includes a visit to see Brandon Moreno, who also defends his belt against Alexandre Pantoja. Pantoja receives support from former contender Demian Maia.

Bo Nickal, who just received his new opponent, gets in a little relaxing fishing ahead of his bout.

UFC Embedded, Episode Two

On the second episode, we make a visit to see Brandon Moreno’s some in Las Vegas with his family. Moreno also shows us around Las Vegas.

Both Alexandre Pantoja and Yair Rodriguez land in Sin City ahead of Saturday night’s event, while Alexander Volkanovski and Dricus Du Plessis workout at the PI.
