Jon Jones Vs. Stipe Miocic On For UFC 295 In MSG
One of the more storied venues in the United States will be home to what should be one of the biggest heavyweight fights in UFC history. Dana White announced that Jon Jones will defend his title against Stipe Miocic.
The bout will headline UFC 295 on November 11 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. White made the announcement prior to weigh-ins for UFC 290 Friday with a special video package.
Jones claimed the title with a first round submission of Ciryl Gane in his heavyweight debut earlier this year. He is a former light heavyweight champion, vacating that belt and moving up a division.
Miocic lost to former champion Francis Ngannou back in 2021 in his most recent fight. A former titleholder himself, he has not fought since due to personal reasons and injuries.
The UFC heavyweight title was vacated when Ngannou left the promotion earlier this year. He has since signed with PFL and is rumored to be set for a boxing match with Tyson Fury.
