Unexpected Alexa Bliss Hiatus Sees Her WWE Contract Extended
The year is halfway over and it will end on a high note for Alexa Bliss. She recently revealed that she is expecting her first child in December.
Bliss and and her husband, Ryan Cabrera, made the reveal to E! News. She noted how the two were not planning to have a baby and she was actually getting ready for a return to WWE at WrestleMania 39.
Fans have not seen Bliss on WWE TV since January’s Royal Rumble, where she lost to Bianca Belair. Although, she was on TV behind that time; but, few knew.
While away the past few months, Bliss took part in The Masked Singer. She wore the Axolotl costume, before being eliminated. All of that led to what seemed liked an unexpected Alexa Bliss hiatus.
“WWE gave me time off for [Masked Singer] to kind of fully dive into that experience with rehearsals, vocal lessons and all that stuff,” said Bliss said. “Storyline-wise, I was not on TV anyway, so it really kind of worked out perfectly.”
“[WWE] extended my contract and so it’s just basically come back when I’m ready. Probably a month after the baby, I’ll start probably getting back into the gym and getting ready to see what my in-ring return looks like.”
So, there is a chance Bliss could return before WrestleMania 40. Still, let her enjoy this amazing time in her life.
Before going on hiatus, WWE was heavily teasing Bliss reuniting with Bray Wyatt. The two made plenty of noise a few years back while Wyatt was performing as The Fiend.
Since Wyatt returned to WWE, he never interacted directly with Bliss. But, his alter ego, Uncle Howdy, had several interactions with Bliss.
Fans have not seen Wyatt in months, with rumors of an illness keeping him on the sides. There are reports WWE plans to bring him back in the near future.
Whenever Bliss returns, we will have to see if WWE has her work with Wyatt again. They made a fun duo, but lots can happen between now and next year.
