UFC Fight Night: Singapore Sees Champions In Action

All the way over in Kallang, Singapore, four fighters who would hold UFC gold in their respective careers took to the Octagon, with three of them scoring wins.

UFC Fight Night 111 took place on June 17, 2017 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Just over 8,000 fans turned out that night to see the action, as it marked the first time in the country since 2014.

In the main event, Holly Holm delivered another head-kick knockout, this time on Bethe Correia. The former bantamweight women’s champion ended the fight early in the third round.

Colby Covington, Rafael Dos Anjos Earn Wins

Colby Covington and Rafael dos Anjos both held the belt in the UFC, and both earned wins via decision.

Covington bested Dong Hyun Kim in the welterweight division, with dos Anjos topping Tarec Saffiedine. Covington is a former holder of the interim title at that weight, while dos Anjos held the lightweight title.

The fourth former champion, Andrei Arlovski, was not as lucky. Arlovski lost via decision to Marcin Tybura.

Finishes Galore On The Prelims

Jon Tuck, Walt Harris, Alex Caceres, Ulka Sasaki and Russell Doane all picked up finishes during the prelim portion of the card. Sasaki was especially impressive, as his submission vs. Justin Scoggins earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Li Jingliang and Frank Camacho battled for 15 minutes with Jingliang scoring a win. The two were also honored as “Fight of the Night” from the event.

Naoki Inoue and Lucie Pudilova started the night off with decisions.
