Conor McGregor Now Involved In Floyd Mayweather-Gotti War

The war between former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III now includes Conor McGregor. The former UFC champion was brought into the fray courtesy of Gotti.

Conor McGregor Now Backing John Gotti III in War With Floyd Mayweather

Over the weekend, Floyd Mayweather returned to the boxing ring for another exhibition match. This time, though, things got very, very interesting.

The camps for both Mayweather and opponent, John Gotti III, came to blows and had to be separated after referee Kenny Bayless called a stoppage to the bout.

Gotti went after Mayweather upon hearing the news, and a brawl ensued. The end came in the sixth round after “Money” had spent much of the fight taunting Gotti.

Both corners, which were deep with followers, had been warned by Bayless throughout.

Gotti became frustrated with the taunts, tying Mayweather up in almost an MMA move. From there, the end was near, as Bayless stopped the fight and the broadcast feed cut away.

McGregor: I Back The Gotti’s

Gotti declared Mayweather an enemy for life and asked for assistance down the road from McGregor, who once faced off with Mayweather in the boxing ring.

“I back the Gotti’s,” McGregor posted on social media. “The war is on.”

McGregor is currently appearing on The Ultimate Fighter ahead of his return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler later this year.

Over the years, McGregor and Mayweather have never seen eye to eye on much. They appear to share a level of respect for the abilities of one another, but not much beyond that.

Hector Lombard Scores Win On Undercard

Former UFC and Bellator fighter Hector Lombard was also in action at the event, which was held in Florida.

Lombard scored a decision victory over Eric Turner.

J’Hon Ingram bested Ryan Allen and Kamari Burnside finished Brendan Jackson in the third round.

Two other bouts were also declared an exhibition like the Mayweather vs. Gotti match. Those featured Ulysess Diaz takiing on Khalas Karim and Jarrell Miller battling Antonio Zepeda.

This was the seventh exhibition match overall for Mayweather since retiring with a perfect 50-0 record.
