2022 ended awful for AJ Styles as he broke his ankle in the final WWE live even of the year. As a result, he was out of action for the longest time in his entire career and that included no WrestleMania 39 match.
Now, he is back and part of the SmackDown brand along with The OC (Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and “Michin” Mia Yim). So far, only Styles has been featured the best.
He made it to the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament, where he lost to Seth “Freakin” Rollins at Night of Champions. Now, there is talk of a slight change coming.
BWE, who has broken several backstage stories as of late, noted an AJ Styles rumor. Basically, Styles start appearing more aggressive.
Before joining WWE, Styles was with WCW in their final days. Instead of signing with WWE once WCW folded, like many others, he opted to go with Impact Wrestling (then called TNA).
Right away, he was put in the X-Division and produced some memorable matches. Not long after, he was made a top star as he won the NWA Heavyweight Championship. Unfortunately, his gimmick was changed once to match Ric Flair and nobody liked it.
After nearly 12 years, the of face of the promotion left. Styles stated how they wanted him to take a 60% pay-cut, which he would not accept.
He then traveled the world, evening becoming the leader of the Bullet Club. Once that ran its course, Styles finally signed with WWE in 2016.
“The Phenomenal One” has produced some of the best matches in WWE history while there. He won a bunch of gold too, including two reigns as WWE Champion.
To be honest, Styles does not need his gimmick changed. The fans dig what they see and there is no need to change something that works.
