Adrien Broner

Former world champion Adrien Broner makes his return to the ring, as he takes on William Hutchinson Friday in Miami.

Four-Division Champion Adrien Broner Back In Action

For the first time since 2021, former four-division world champion Adrien Broner competes inside the boxing ring. Broner will headline Friday’s card from Miami against William Hutchinson.

The event is being promoted by none other than Don King.

The last time we saw Broner in action, he was on the winning end of a decision over Jovanie Santiago on February 20, 2021. That marked his first wins since 2017 when he topped Adrian Granados.

Broner is a far cry from the same person who once went toe-to-toe with Shawn Porter in 2015 and won the WBA super lightweight title later that year.

“This is a great card from top to bottom, headlined by ‘The Problem’ fighter Adrien Broner,” King said. “I am the promoter of the people, for the people and we are giving the people what they want, and that is great fights.”

However, he is still considered to be one of the greatest of this generation. Broner won his first 27 pro fights, including a 2013 victory over Paulie Malignaggi for the WBA welterweight title.

Of his 34 career wins, 24 have come by knockout, with the most recent being vs. Ashley Theophane in 2016.

Hutchinson is coming off 10 consecutive wins, including a decision victory over Rondale Hubbert earlier this year. His last finish came in 2019 when he stopped Charlie Serrano.

Overall, Hutchinson owns a record of 20-2-4 with nine career finishes to his credit.

Light Heavyweight Title Fight Set For Co-Main

The co-main event for the night will see Ahmed Elbiali and Rodolfo Gomez battle for the WBA NABA and WBC NABF light heavyweight titles.

Elbiali is 22-1 with 18 career knockouts and is the reigning WBA NABA champion, while Gomez holds the WBC NABF belt.

Also, Guillermo Rigondeaux takes on Julian Evaristo Aristule and unbeaten Neslan Machado competes.

Raynel Maderos and Antonio Perez meet in a battle of unbeatens at super featherweight, while Antonio Williams takes on Braulio Rodriguez.
