When WWE made their deal with Saudi Arabia, many were skeptical. There were several issues, but sticking point was how they treat women.

As part of the year 10 year deal, which will see WWE produce two shows per year, the goal is for Saudi Arabia to showcase they are evolving to treat everyone equally. For the first few years, so no women present.

Then, things started to change and now women are have worked a bunch of shows. The only notable difference is how they need to cover most of their body.

At least, some progress is being made. And, Night of Champions 2023 was saw a record three matches to soles feature women.

PW Insider reported how WWE is happy with women matches from the show.

The first instance saw WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus defeat Becky Lynch after Zoey Stark got involved. It marked Stratus’ first singles win in about 15 years, although not being a regularly competitor was seen in her work.

Then, Asuka finally won gold on the main roster as she defeated RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The win ended the longest women’s title reign in modern WWE history.

Finally, Rhea Ripley retained her title over Natalya. Unfortunately, the match lasted about 70 seconds after Natalya squashed on her birthday.

Overall, they were not the best matches of the evening. But, WWE is happy with women matches being featured from Saudi Arabia. Beforehand, they company got some bad press with the exclusion of women, so a positive change is coming from the deal.
