Why Didn’t Bron Breakker Get Called Up?
Breakker lost his WWE NXT Championship at the Stand & Deliver event during WrestleMania 39 festivities. Carmelo Hayes became the new champ, which had fans speculating about a call-up for Breakker, come draft time.
This is why fans were a little taken aback when the former NXT titleholder didn’t get called to the main roster. He remains active on NXT, as of this writing.
An update from WRKD Wrestling, a wrestling spoiler and news handle on Twitter, may provide some insight. As per their post, there were “tentative plans” to draft the star to the main roster.
However, WWE officials have been quite impressed with his heel character. Therefore, the decision was made to keep the star on NXT to further cultivate his persona.
The post adds that the plans as of now are for Bron to be called up to either Friday Night SmackDown or Monday Night RAW after SummerSlam. This year’s event is taking place on Saturday, August 5th in Detroit, Michigan at Ford Field.
During this week’s main event, the NXT star defeated Trick Williams. He goes on to face Hayes for the NXT Championship at the Battleground event on Sunday, May 28th, taking place in Lowell, MZ at the Tsongas Center.
A second-generation wrestler, Bron’s father is the WWE Hall of Famer (HOF) Rick Steiner.
The talent debuted in NXT on September 2021 and has had huge success with the company’s developmental brand.
