UFC On ABC 4: Biggest Test Yet For Jailton Almeida

UFC on ABC 4

Finish machine Jailton Almeida puts his streak and opportunity on the line this Saturday night vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the new main event for UFC on ABC 4.

Jailton Almeida chasing his biggest win to date

A pair of heavyweights square off in the new main event of UFC on ABC 4, as Jairzinho Rozenstruik battles Jailton Almeida. The event takes place from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rozenstruik has faced some of the top heavyweights in the world including former champions Francis Ngannou, Junior dos Santos and Andrei Arlovski, along with the likes of Alistair Overeem, Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov.

Overall, he is 13-4 with 12 knockout wins.

But this is the ultimate test for Almeida, and the 31-year-old from Brazil appears ready.

Almeida started his career at the welterweight division back in 2012 and is now a rock-solid 225-pounder. He has not lost since a 2018 setback in Brazil, reeling off 13 consecutive wins, including 13 by finish.

His UFC debut came in 2022 after appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series and is now 5-0 with the promotion. He has stopped Shamil Abdurakhimov, Anton Turkalj, Parker Porter, Danilo Marques and Nasrudin Nasrudinov.

Outside of the UFC, Almeida has solid wins

Even before he arrived in the UFC, Almeida had picked up some noteworthy victories.

He submitted Ildemar Alcantara in 2020 with a first round arm-triangle choke and he won the Fight On MMA light heavyweight title in 2019 with a submission of Ednaldo Oliveira.

Two years later, he submitted Oliveira for the Thunder Fight light heavyweight title.

Rest of the fight card includes Anthony Smith vs. Johnny Walker

Most thought Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker would take the main event spot, but officials opted to go a different direction. That light heavyweight contest remains as the co-main event.

Original plans saw Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill meet on the card, but they will now fight a week later.

Daniel Rodriguez vs. Ian Garry and Alex Morono vs. Tim Means are also expected to go down, with the prelims highlighted by Matt Brown vs. Court McGee.
