Sonya Deville Gets Closure

After some scary real life incidents, Sonya Deville gets closure.

To provide a bit of a recap, we have to go back to the summer of 2020.

Deville shared a home with a fellow female WWE Superstar (Mandy Rose).

In August of 2020, a man unknown to either woman broke into the home with intentions of kidnapping Deville.

Fortunately, the house had an alarm and neither Deville nor her housemate were physically harmed.

The crazed individual, Philip Thomas, was arrested and recently stood trial.

That trial just wrapped up, resulting in Thomas receiving a 15 year sentence for his crimes.

In all fairness, this likely only gives Sonya Deville some closure, in that she will know where he is for the near term.

However, in the years since the harrowing incident, it’s hard to dispute the event hasn’t impacted Deville’s life.

She now carries a concealed weapon, and while I don’t blame her for that, she did get into trouble with it, due to transit rules.

Deville also did miss a good chunk of time from WWE while dealing with the case, especially early on.

So, while it may not be absolutely over, and she might always carry the emotional scars from it, Sonya Deville gets closure in some legal fashion.

With the case now concluded, it will be interesting to see if she amps things up even more in the ring.

Currently, she’s been working with recently returned Chelsea Green as a tag team in the suddenly re-loaded women’s tag team ranks.

With this stalking case now having closure, it’s also a reminder, yet again, that professional athletes and entertainers are people too.

Fans need to know and respect boundaries, and while this should be obvious, it is never OK to show up to their homes uninvited, for any reason.

WWE Faction Returning

Now that we know who’s been drafted where…could one WWE faction be returning?

Looking at a few easter eggs from recent weeks, it’s hard to think otherwise.

And then, of course, there is this:

So, first and foremost, if you were not a fan of NXT…The Way was a big thing for a while.

Of course, for much of the time, it was a bit of a heel faction, but that is neither here nor there.

Out of the entire membership, all but one member from The Way is now on Monday Night RAW.

The loan absence is Austin Theory, who left the group when he was drafted to the main roster in 2021.

And honestly, his star has likely outgrown the faction, though who knows when paths might cross again.

So, what tips and hints have we gotten that already made us think the group would be back?

Outside if the all-too-obvious fact that Gargano, Lumis, LeRae and Hartwell are all now RAW Superstars?

Not that long ago, Indi Hartwell was challenging for the NXT Women’s Championship in a ladder match.

Going in, she seemed to just be getting a chance, but as we now know, she won the match.

She had a big help from on-screen NXT husband Dexter Lumis, and the RAW members of The Way appeared to celebrate her title win.

More recently, on the May 2nd episode of NXT, Hartwell mentioned the group very specifically. This was a part of her farewell to NXT speech.

At the end of the speech, she relinquished the NXT title.

All the stars seem to be aligning, and a reunion of The Way on RAW appears to be a matter of when, not if.
