PFL 6: Lightweights, Welterweights Take Stage

The sixth event of the 2023 PFL regular season goes down June 23 from Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The card will feature a load of fights in the lightweight and welterweight divisions.

PFL 6 Headlined By Olivier Aubin-Mercier In Action

Reigning PFL lightweight champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier looks to secure the No. 1 seed in the 2023 tournament when he headlines PFL 6 in June.

The former UFC fighter and Ultimate Fighter finalist battles Anthony Romero in the main event from Atlanta, Georgia and the Overtime Elite Arena on June 23. The main card airs live on ESPN with all the action streaming live on ESPN+.

Aubin-Mercier has reeled off seven consecutive wins, all of which have come inside the PFL SmartCage. He claimed a win back in April over Shane Burgos.

Last year, Aubin-Mercier downed Stevie Ray in the tourney finals to capture gold and $1 million. He has also topped the likes of Raush Manfio, Natan Schulte and Marcin Held.

Romero is making his debut and has the biggest opportunity of his life to secure a win and possibly sneak into the next round of action. The Canadian is 12-1 and earned a win during the PFL Challenger Series this past February.

Sadibou Sy, Shane Burgos Also In Action

Other main card tournament bouts will see Sadibou Sy take on Shane Mitchell, Shane Burgos battle Yamato Nishikawa and Clay Collard tangle with Stevie Ray.

Sy picked up a victory earlier this year in the welterweight division, while Collard scored a win at lightweight. Burgos is looking for his first victory of the year.

Four more welterweight fights, three more lightweight and one more featherweight affair are all scheduled for the prelims. Magomed Magomedkerimov and David Zawada in the welterweight division headline the card.

Natan Schulte and Raush Manfio will be a fun lightweight battle, while Jarrah Al-Silawi and Cedric Doumbe meet at welterweight. Doumbe is making his PFL debut after a run in Glory that included two welterweight title victories and five title defenses in all.

Magomed Umalatov faces Nayib Lopez, Carlos Leal gets Dilano Taylor, Alex Martinez meets Bruno Miranda, Brahyan Zurcher faces off with Mike Bardsley and Abdullah Al-Qahtani fights Lamar Brown to complete the event.
