This week’s RAW had a lot going on, including a tease that has us asking : is an NXT Champion returning soon?
Now, there are quite a few NXT Champions we could be discussing here, and to be clear, this would be a former champion.
And while the teaser segment included a recently drafted former NXT Champion, she isn’t the NXT Champion returning soon.

Who is the NXT Champion returning soon?
First and foremost, after whispers of a family reunion, we did indeed see The Way standing side by side.
Well, all of them except Austin Theory…but he only had a cup of coffee with the NXT faction before he was called up.
So, as we saw Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dexter Lumis and new RAW Superstar Indi Hartwell enjoy being back together…we got a tease.
Without context, Gargano said “he will be back soon”.
Now, there are ways to interpret that.
Some have joked that this could be Gargano teasing that SmackDown Superstar Austin Theory will win the World Heavyweight Championship tournament and come to RAW.
The more popular option? Johnny was teasing a possible return of, and reunion with, Tommaso Ciampa.
Ciampa has been off television for quite some time, recovering from another injury.
If Gargano was indeed teasing an impending return of his former DIY partner…that would indeed be exciting.
Gargano and Ciampa teamed up to be one of the hottest and most over NXT tag teams for quite some time.
The team was a part of some great NXT matches with teams like FTR.
And, as stellar as their tag team run was…the feud between the two Superstars was on an entirely different level.
Since then, Ciampa was brought up to RAW, and Johnny spent a stretch as a free agent.
Now, both men are on the main roster, making a reunion possible, if not probable.
So, with Johnny and The Way teasing something, we are left wondering, is the former NXT Champion returning soon?
