Former UFC Fighter Found Dead In Brazil After Accident

MMA Fighting is reporting that Felipe Colares, who fought six times for the UFC, has passed away after being struck by a bus in Brazil Monday morning.

Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares has passed away. He was 28 years old.

According to information obtained by MMA Fighting, Colares was hit by a bus Monday morning while walking back from a training session in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Colares was taken by ambulance to the Hospital Rocha Faria in Campo Grande, but died before arriving to be treated.

Colares went 2-4 with the UFC between 2019-22

During a six-fight stint between 2019-22, Colares went 2-4 with the UFC. He scored wins over Domingo Pilarte and Luke Sanders, with defeats coming at the hands of Chase Hooper, Chris Gutierrez, Montel Jackson and Geraldo de Freitas.

This past February following his release from the UFC, Colares signed to fight at Ares FC 12. He scored a first round submission vs. Alioune Nahaye in Paris, France.

Colares started his career a perfect 8-0, capped off by a 2017 win at Jungle Fight 92 over Caio Gregorio for the vacant featherweight title.

Seven of his 11 career wins came by way of submission with one by TKO.

Colares was training with Team Nogueira, who he joined back in 2014. He was a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a black belt on judo.
