Drew McIntyre’s WWE return is yet to happen since WrestleMania 39 and the reason seems to involve creative differences.

The WWE Draft came and went, with the rosters looking rather different. One of the biggest changes saw Drew McIntyre go from SmackDown to RAW.
So far, there has been no sign of McIntyre since losing a triple threat match at WrestleMania 39 along Sheamus to GUNTHER. There have growing questions about his future in WWE as his contract ends early next year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McIntyre’s return is now based on creative. There seems to be a lack of communication from both sides.
There seemed to be interest in McIntyre turning heel. Although, that is purely speculation at this point.
A heel might help McIntyre, who is having trouble getting back in the main event scene. If Seth Rollins wins the title at Night of Champions, Drew McIntyre’s WWE return could be worked into a program with him as a heel.
When everything basically shutdown because of the pandemic, WWE produced shows with no audience. Unfortunately, both times McIntyre won the WWE Championship there were no fans in attendance.
This is McIntyre’s second run with WWE. The first time saw him get a major push out of the gate, but then he was placed in the back of the line.
He was part of the popular stable, 3MB, before being released. Then, he would tour the world before heading to NXT and ultimately the main roster.
The time away from WWE seemed to help his value grow.
If WWE and McIntyre are unable to reach a deal, the Scottish wrestler should have no trouble finding a new home. AEW would likely sign him or he could return to Impact Wrestling.
So, is Drew McIntyre’s WWE return going to be delayed longer until the creative differences are resolved?
