We’ve heard talk of changes within some groups, but could Imperium add a big new Superstar?
There has been plenty of talk, before the draft and now after it, about faces getting added to existing WWE factions.
Perhaps the hottest rumbling, teased on this week’s RAW, is the chance of JD McDonagh joining Judgement Day.
But, this rumor isn’t that at all.
Not even a Bloodline rumor either-we just expect them to add another family member as needed.
In this one, the question is, could Imperium add a big new Superstar?
And the answer is…yes.
Once you hear who, it might both surprise you, and make sense.
A Big New Superstar Coming To Imperium?
To learn who Imperium could add, we have to look at NXT. Or, specifically, NXT talents who’ve been off television for a bit.
More specifically, how about one of the few NXT Superstars who went toe to toe with GUNTHER…and won.
That should give it away, but, in case you were wondering about which big new Superstar Imperium could add…how about Ilya Dragunov?
Like I said, it both surprises, and makes sense.
Dragunov and GUNTHER had an absolute war, one of the hardest hitting matches I had seen up until that point.
The result was Dragunov ending GUNTHER’s longer than 2 year NXT UK title run.
I had not seen such chops and such visible damage from a match until we got GUNTHER, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.
So, considering the rivalry, it would be surprising.
But, Imperium is made up of International (specifically, European) Superstars.
To that end, Ilya Dragunov fits. And, there’s no arguing against the fit-he is thematically perfect for the faction.
While Dragunov was not drafted to either brand recently, he can always just be elevated, and it sounds like it might happen soon.
Could we see Ilya show up at Night of Champions to help GUNTHER retain?
