Tony Khan is ready for war as AEW and WWE continue to battle for supremacy. Also, a top NXT wrestler is out with an apparent eye injury after being attacked earlier in the week.

Tony Khan Ready For War

For a long time, WWE had no competition. They went to war with WCW and won.

Since then, there have not been many companies to test WWE. The biggest hurdle has been AEW, who is still around after a few years.

For Tony Khan, he is ready to take AEW and go to war against WWE. While speaking to The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Khan went over the battle.

“The wrestling business is very dirty,” said Khan. “I can’t speak to the fight business, but certainly I think it’s more organized than the fight business.”

“As far as there’s two, I think, well-organized promotions competing with each other. Again, I don’t know if these things have happened.”

“I only know what people have come to me and alleged. But, I do know it’s a real war between AEW and WWE and the fans are interested in it.”

“And, that was part of the original business model of AEW. I knew wrestling fans, frankly, are very interested in wrestling free agency and wrestling wars.”

“And, I believe we could create a free agent market that is definitely a real thing now. That would be a big part of the story.”

AEW started strong, but 2022 was not their year. There were several injuries and the entire CM Punk fiasco.

As for WWE, they improved once Vince McMahon left. Of course, he did return but apparently not in the same facet.

When there is more than one company around, it brings out the best in competition. When WCW was doing well, it  saw WWE change their product and welcome in the Attitude Era.

This past Wednesday, JD McDonagh took on Carmelo Hayes. The finish saw Ilja Dragunov return and take out McDonagh.

Remember, McDonagh was the one who got Dragunov out of the picture months ago. This was simply retribution.

McDonagh ran threw the crowd to avoid a further beating. Well, McDonagh is claiming he is injured.

He took to Twitter and showed-off an eye injury. He stated how he would miss about two weeks because of a detached retina in one eye.

There is a picture from McDonagh, so the injury might be real. Still, he will be back shortly to continue the program with Dragunov.
