Things appear to be heading for a most unexpected WrestleMania clash, so we’ve got some news on Brock Lesnar and Omos to dive into. Plus, Davey Boy Smith Jr talks about his opportunities with WWE and why he didn’t come back.

News On Brock Lesnar And Omos

This one certainly is not the most wanted WrestleMania match ever, so let’s discuss some news about Brock Lesnar and Omos.

The match was pitched on television last week during RAW, as Omos challenged Lesnar to a match at WrestleMania.

Relative to the story line, Brock Lesnar is expected on tonight’s RAW to accept (or not accept) the challenge.

A match between Lesnar and Omos is currently penciled in, so all signs point toThe Beast Incarnate accepting.

According to the Wrestling Observer, this was not the plan for Brock Lesnar heading to Hollywood.

Some fans don’t expect much from this apparent backup plan…

In fact, Omos was not even his backup plan. Reports indicate that Steve Austin was option A, but nothing indicates who was option B-just that it was not Omos.

Taking things a bit deeper, Meltzer noted that this match was one of the latest to come together, and to the best of what he’s heard, this was not an ask from Vince McMahon.

It is worth noting that Lesnar has quite a deal with WWE. He has the final approval of who he will and will not work with.

As green as Omos has often looked, if indeed Lesnar and Omos is the match, it would appear that Lesnar likes the idea of working with the Nigerian Giant.

One natural thing to speculate is whether this match will be leverage for a re-birth of the Hurt Business.

Or, was this agreed to by Brock Lesnar because he fully expects to squash his opponent?

As of now, this match made me think of one ‘Mania match…and I was not alone.

Davey Boy Smith Jr Talks WWE

One multi-generational talent who struggled his first time through, Davey Boy Smith Jr. talks about his time in WWE, and why he isn’t back.

Smith Jr, son of the late British Bulldog, had a short stint with WWE many moons ago.

Upon leaving, as is frequently the case, Smith came into his own. Things clicked, and he established himself on the independent circuit.

Not that long ago, there was a buzz growing that WWE wanted to bring him back, and that the feeling was mutual.

Smith was brought in for some dark matches, but things did not come to pass.

Smith spoke with Fightful to clear things up.

A possible return even got to the point where Vince McMahon had given him a new gimmick.

Had Smith returned, it would have been as the Stampede Stud working on SmackDown.

When asked if he would give it another go, he was refreshingly blunt.

At this point in time, he is happy with MLW and also grateful for the time with, and money earned from, WWE.

Smith feels like a return to WWE would be purely for the paycheck for him at this point, and as such, does not see it in his future.

Things change all the time, of course, but for now, it would seem as though we won’t see Smith in WWE any time soon.
