Brent Primus In For Bellator 296, Lightweight Grand Prix

Brent Primus has been inserted into the upcoming Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix.

Primus will square off with Mansour Baranoui on May 12 at Bellator 296. The event takes place from the Accor Arena in Paris, France, airing live on Showtime.

In the main event, Gegard Mousasi battles Fabian Edwards in a meeting of top middleweight contenders.

Primus takes the place of Sidney Outlaw, as the was removed from the tournament after testing positive for banned substances during a recent drug test.

Back in 2017, Primus scored a win over Michael Chandler to claim the Bellator lightweight title. He holds a victory over Benson Henderson, who is also in the grand prix.

The winner between Primus and Baranoui will take on either reigning champion Usman Nurmagomedov or Henderson.
