William Regal – WWE Comeback? + Randy Orton Return Uncertain

William Regal WWE Comeback

There are two reports that have recently surfaced around William Regal. One indicates he’s about to exit AEW. Another states a WWE comeback is on the horizon. More on this story, below.

William Regal – WWE Comeback?

According to Fightful’s Sean Sapp, William Regal may be on his way out of AEW. As most fans are aware, he recently helped MJF win the AEW World Championship at the Full Gear event.

Unfortunately, MJF would then turn on Regal and attacked him. If William is on his way out, this may be Tony Khan’s way of writing him out of storylines.

As per the report, the belief from AEW talent is that Regal’s contract is up as of December. But there’s more to this ever-evolving story.

Could William Regal Make A WWE Comeback?

According to a PW Insider report, all arrows are pointing toward Regal returning to the WWE. While nothing official has been confirmed by the company, there have been “rumblings” of a backstage role.

If PW Insider’s report is correct, then it would also confirm Fightful’s that centers around William leaving AEW. Plus, there’s the Triple H factor.

It’s no secret that Regal and HHH have a long history together in this business. William was one of Paul Levesque’s closest confidants in the WWE.

With Trips in charge now, it makes sense that he would bring Regal back into the WWE fold after he was cut by Vince McMahon. Only time will tell.

Speaking of comebacks, looks like Randy Orton’s in-ring return is up in the air. More on this story, below.

Randy Orton Return Uncertain

Orton is undeniably one of WWE’s GOATs. From 14-time WWE Champion, U.S. Champion, IC Champ, a multiple Tag Titles holder, two-time Royal Rumble winner, and 2013 Mr. Money in the Bank, he’s “done it all” in the company.

He’s been wrestling for over two decades, and this can take quite a toll on anyone’s body. The Apex Predator has been out of action for a while, due to a back injury.

Randy recently had back fusion surgery. While he recovers the question about a possible comeback lingers.

Teddy Long talks about Orton and his injury during a One On One episode. Long notes that Randy should stay away from the squared circle.

Teddy states that Orton should not return “for the sake of it” as Edge and Kurt Angle did. He adds that Randy is a good friend of his, and he hopes he takes his advice, which is to listen to his doctors.

Therefore, if they say, “stay out of the ring”, Long believes Randy should do just that. He doesn’t want Randy to get injured any further.

The Road To Recovery

Randy seems to be recovering well since his back surgery. This is great news.

Still, while his WWE family and fans may want him to return, at the end of the day, he needs to put his health first. Fans will have to wait and see if (and when) the Viper returns to the squared circle.
