Bianca Belair is a highlight of the WWE women’s division, but she struggled with an eating disorder. Also, a superstar is out until 2023.

How Bianca Belair Overcame Eating Disorder

When it comes to athletic ability in WWE’s women division, Bianca Belair has a case for being the best. Before for wrestling, she was a star in track and field, while also taking art in CrossFit.

Her athletic background made her transition into pro wrestling look easy. In six years, she went from a nobody in NXT to one of the to female stars on the main roster.

Although, the RAW Women’s Champion’s life has been met with struggles. In particular, she recalled having an eating disorder and subsequently bulimia while speaking with On The Grind.

“I used to have a very unhealthy relationship with food,” said Belair. “When I was in high school, I ran track.” 

“I was very muscular. The one thing people would tell me would help me run faster is if you end up losing weight.” 

“So, I just took it to a whole other level. I ended up struggling with bulimia.” 

“Athletic scholarship, and going to college, and I got hurt, and I decided, ‘okay, I don’t wanna do this anymore. I wanna try to stop struggling with bulimia.”

“I ended up then developing BED, binge eating disorder, where I was just binge eating. You know, fast forward to I got into CrossFit and for the first time I saw these women that had these big beautiful muscles.” 

“They were doing amazing things with their bodies. And I was finally in this environment where how my body was naturally made, it was for a good thing.”

Bianca Belair Continues To Make History In WWE

Belair has already made history. Along with Sasha Banks, they became the first black women to main event WrestleMania.

Also, Belair is a former SmackDown Women’s Champion and also held a similar title on RAW. And, she won the 2021 Royal Rumble Match.

Looking back at the Women’s WarGames Match at Survivor Series and one can tell the division has changed. Currently, the women’s division is stacked with such high-level never before seen in WWE.

Although, WWE will be short one of their promising superstars until at least January. WWE confirmed how Raquel Rodriguez will be out of action four to six weeks because of an arm injury.

On the final SmackDown before Survivor Series, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler attacked Rodriguez backstage.

Later in the show, Rodriguez was seen sporting an arm brace. As of now, Rodriguez has not issued a statement. 

The timing could be worse. She should be back by the Royal Rumble and even if not, there is plenty of time until WrestleMania 39.
