Jeff Jarrett made a shocking appearance on Dynamite and we know more about his AEW role. Also, Triple H would answer the phone if CM Punk called.

Jeff Jarrett – AEW Role

There were reports AEW had something major planned for AEW Dynamite. In the opening contest, fans learned what Tony Khan had planned.

Jay Lethal defeated Darby Allin, with plenty of outside interference. Then, Sting’s music hit and the heels headed to ramp.

Although, the entire angle was a sham. A figure came through the crowd and hit Allin over the head with a guitar.

At that moment, fans knew who the mystery person. It was good old, Jeff Jarrett.

He cut a promo that seemed to indicate he was looking to takeover AEW. He did drop a line, where he mentioned the word “impact.”

Of course, Jarrett was the founder of Impact Wrestling (then known as TNA). Impact Wrestling and AEW have worked together in the past, so maybe that will start-up again.

While we do not know if he will be a regular on TV, AEW has hired him to an executive position. His new role will be similar to what he was doing in WWE before departing.

Jarrett was let go by WWE shortly after Triple H came into power. Like he stated in his AEW debut promo, his family has around 70 years of experience in the business.

All that knowledge is something AEW needs as they continue to grow and hit roadblocks.

Right now, there is uncertainty about CM Punk in AEW. Due to the brawl after All Out, several people were suspended with Ace Steel being fired.

Based off some recent segments, it seems Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks should be back shortly. Although, there is no update on Punk, who is also injured.

Triple H discussed the possibility of Punk returning to WWE.

“I’ll never say never” said Triple H. “I don’t know if I can think of anybody in the business that if they called me, I would take their phone call whether in the business or whatever. And I would answer the phone.”

“I think we would have a conversation. You know, again I’ll never say never, but the desire needs to be there at all sides just to make things happen.”

Punk famously walked of WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014. He never officially returned to action until he joined AEW last year.

Punk’s run in AEW has seen the company make huge leaps. At the same time, he made the promotion look foolish as he ripped AEW apart right after becoming World Champion.

Due to an injury sustained at All Out, Punk will not be cleared to wrestle until the middle of next year.

By that time, who knows what his wrestling status will be.
