SmackDown In A Nutshell: Logan Paul Back On Blue

It’s time for another SmackDown in a Nutshell, and this time around, Logan Paul is back on the blue brand.

Of course, Logan Paul is back on the blue because Crown Jewel is rapidly approaching.

And, Paul is back on blue to continue hyping up his unlikely clash for the titles against Roman Reigns.

Of course, that is not all we can look forward to this week…it’s just the headlining attraction.

We know we can expect the new look Liv Morgan against Sonya Deville. And in a late addition, Solo Sikoa should have a banger with Sheamus.

Seriously, the match hasn’t even happened already and already I am feeling the bruises.

So, with no further delays…it is time for…

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and get into it!

Best Match of the night:

Liv Morgan versus Sonya Deville.

So what if this was a no contest or a double count out or whatever.

WWE wants to make Liv a more twisted character, a little darker? This works, and this match is a great way to go there.

Now, fans were already whispering that she could be in the mythical Wyatt 6, either with or instead of Alexa Bliss.

Stuff like tonight will only make those whispers louder.

And for what it’s worth, Rey and Ludwig Kaiser had a good one.

Worst match of the night:

Not a match, but a segment. And, more the response than the execution.

Absolutely no fan on Earth is asking for Omos and Braun Strowman.

Yet, that is what we are getting. The two men met “face to face” in the ring, and it was…not exciting.

MVP likely helps save this one, because Omos cannot talk, and even though he’s been here a bit…he’s just very green still.

The upside? This clash happens at Crown Jewel, and perhaps it will be one and done.

Star of the Night

Have to go with Liv here. I am intrigued by where this might go.

Morgan’s super-plex onto the chairs should do it, no?

Jobber of the Night:

Marginally Deville…and if not her, then none.

Upset of the Night:

None tonight. Not in matches anyways.

Reigns might be upset about this though…

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Minor: McIntyre versus Kross, steel cage at Crown Jewel. That one should be good.

Not so minor: Bloodline taking out Sheamus. Wonder if he might come back as another palette cleaning challenger between now and ‘Mania?

Botch of the night:

While I did give it match of the night, some of the spots weren’t all that good in Liv and Sonya’s match.

Like, when Liv was “hitting” Sonya’s head into the steps. I get it, she doesn’t actually have to do that…but it needs to look better, or don’t do it.

LOL Moment of the night:

Not really a moment intended to be funny…but Paul got out of the SUV as you’d expect a heel to do.

Except, I am pretty sure he’s not supposed to be the heel? Yet…he is very easily unlikable.

Noteworthy Moment:

Wyatt is back, and we got more of his talking, but it leaves us wanting more.

Is the circle just a circle…or is the circle an actual name, instead of Wyatt 6?

And was that “howdy” person, talking about loved ones a nod about the incoming Bo Dallas? Or was it Bo like we’ve never seen him before?

Next week…Rousey…open challenge…will we get Charlotte or someone completely new and unexpected?!

Overall lowlights:

Omos and Strowman. I like Strowman, but Omos just…he should go back down and work on something.

Sami Zayn and company saved the Logan Paul segment. Otherwise it didn’t feel main event worthy to me.

Overall highlights:

Liv Morgan, without the belt, is doing her best work. Funny how that works.

Strong heel promo from Ronda Rousey. Is it me, or does she seem more comfortable?

Sami Zayn is a treasure. Having him with The Bloodline at first seemed weird, and maybe it still is a little, but it’s also gold.

By having Zayn there when Reigns is not…and even when he is…it just changes things up and it is working.

After the final bell:

Overall, satisfied with the show. Admittedly, tough watching that and playoff baseball side by side, but it was a good offering.

What does it say though, about the Crown Jewel main event, when it feels like most cannot wait to get past it?

Like, yes, Logan Paul has shown himself to be capable in two matches thus far…and the action itself may be strong.

But the build to it has felt weird, he is undeserving of the shot, and Reigns likely will not carry him the same way his other opponents have.

We shall see how that goes.

Other than that, it was another good SmackDown.
