Chris Jericho is not going anywhere at the moment. He just singed an extension with AEW, but with more responsibilities.

Besides wrestling, Jericho will also work more involved backstage. He is set to be a producer for matches and creative advisor.

For Jericho, re-signing with AEW was a no-brainer.

“I guess the simple answer is, ‘Why not?,’” said Jericho. “Things have been going so well in the company and I really do feel that this is my company.”

“It’s tattooed on my heart, so to speak. I’ve been here since day one, and there’s really no reason not to be here continuing forward.”

Recently, Jon Moxley signed a similar deal to stay with AEW.

When AEW was being created, Jericho was probably the biggest name to sign. Therefore, he became the inaugural AEW World Champion.

Since then, he has remained a key figure on TV. There have been several stables he represented and he continues to make history.

Currently, Jericho is the Ring Of Honor (ROH) World Champion. He won the title from Claudio Castagnoli last month.

The new deal will keep Jericho around until the first week of January 2026. He turns 52 years old soon, so he might end up retiring as part of AEW.
