It’s official! Roman Reigns is defending his WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel on Saturday, November 5th against newbie, Logan Paul. The Champ has bulldozed over every top superstar on both rosters. However, why is the YouTuber getting a title shot so soon?
Why Logan Paul Is Getting A Title Shot
During a recent press conference for the Saudi Arabia event, it was confirmed that Roman Reigns versus Logan Paul for the Universal Championship was taking place at Crown Jewel. With that said, many fans are asking “why Logan Paul”?

During Sunday Night’s Main Event, Dave Meltzer provides some insight. It seems that Logan Paul is considered quite the celebrity in this region of the world.
More On Why Logan Paul Getting A Title Shot
Plus, Mohammed Bin Salman, Saudi’s Crown Prince wants more “celebrity attraction” fights to take place. It has nothing to do with selling tickets or even drawing younger viewers, on the WWE’s part.
Meltzer notes that Logan will get more press attraction from Saudi Arabia media than someone like Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens. At the end of the day, the matches the Saudi prince wants are the matches WWE Crown Jewel gets.
Could Paul’s star power in that area also offer enough “pull” for him to become WWE Universal Champion? Only time will tell.
In other (unfortunate) news, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is in the hospital. More on this story, below.
Trish Stratus In The Hospital
Stratisfaction is always guaranteed when Trish Stratus enters a ring. Sadly, the former WWE Women’s Champion has fallen ill.
Stratus hit Instagram to update her fans and followers about her condition. Upon returning from a ten-hour travel day, her appendix *almost* burst.
As such, she had to undergo emergency surgery. The good news is, she was able to address it all in time.
She notes that she has quite a high tolerance when it comes to pain. So, initially, she believed the pain in her stomach was simply a digestive issue.
It seems the cramps were persistent. They got worse over time.
In fact, when they ended up getting intense, Trish decided to go straight to emergency. Her appendix was close to bursting, and if it had, it may have been fatal.
Trish Stratus’s History With The WWE
Undeniably, Trish Stratus is one of the biggest female WWE stars in the company’s history. She trailblazed the way for many lady wrestlers in the WWE and other promotions.
She started off as a manager in 2000. She would move on to do matches by early 2001.
Over the years, she’s had some epic feuds. Although her most memorable to date are the programs she shared with Lita, Stephanie McMahon, Mickie James, and of course, Charlotte Flair.

She retired from action in 2006, winning the WWE Women’s Championship for the seventh time, against Lita, in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She would return to the ring in 2019, to challenge Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in T.O., but lost that bout.
Stratus is a wrestling legend. In 2013, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, won the Diva of the Decade in 2003, and hit the number one spot in 2021 when the top 50 Greatest WWE Female Superstars of all time was released.
On behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we wish her a speedy recovery. Thankfully, she got the care she needed, in time.
