At the All Out event this past weekend, Christian Cage defeated Jungle Boy in a quickie match. This was because he was injured. A new report sheds some light on a major surgery the AEW superstar will need.

Christian Cage Needs Major Surgery

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Christian Cage suffered a similar injury to CM Punk, during the All Out event. In fact, both men will be on the injured list for about the same amount of time.

It’s believed that Cage has torn triceps. Both Punk and Christian will be out of action for approximately six to nine months.

More On Christian Cage & His Major Surgery

According to Fightful’s Sean Sapp, the reason behind the squash match at All Out was Cage’s injury. Luchasaurus turned heel on Jungle Boy before he lost the match to Christian.

Meanwhile, Cage will have to have major surgery and recover before he can step foot back into an AEW ring. According to Meltzer, CM Punk will also need surgery and may have already gone through the procedure.

While their injuries are similar, their circumstances within the company are not. Christian Cage gets along with pretty much everyone backstage.

Meanwhile, controversy surrounds CM Punk once again. Most have learned about his rant, post-All Out, during the media scrum.

This led to a backstage confrontation that involved him, Ace Steel, as well as Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks. All have been suspended as of this writing.

Some good news in AEW is that Jake Hager will seemingly stick around the promotion for a little longer. Details below on this story.

Jake Hager AEW Status

Once known as Jack Swagger in the WWE, Hager has had a strong showing in AEW since he arrived in 2019. Now, it seems that his deal with the promotion has been extended.

Chris Jericho recently revealed that Hager signed a contract extension with AEW. This was during an interview he had with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes.

This is great news for both the undefeated Bellator fighter and his fans. What will Hager be up to next in AEW?

That’s hard to say. However, his fellow Inner Circle Jericho will face Bryan Danielson next week in the semi-finals of the AEW World Championship tourney.

Will Jericho move on to the finals? Only time will tell.

Jake Hager’s Career

Hager entered the land of professional wrestling when he debuted for the WWE in 2006. During his tenure, he held the WWE World title, U.S. Championship, and won the Money in the Bank (MITB) briefcase in 2010.

Hager was released from the company in 2017. Later that year in November, Jake announced he signed a deal with Bellator MMA, working in their heavyweight division.

He’s had four fights with the promotion over the years and hasn’t lost one. His last bout was against Brandon Calton in late 2020.

While he’s yet to win gold in AEW, he’s been booked very well and has been a part of some incredible matches and storylines. It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for Hager in this company.
