Earlier this year, the AEW stable “House of Black” debuted. Brody King, Julia Hart, Buddy Matthews, along with Malakai Black formed the faction. With Black currently released from the promotion, what’s the status of this group?

AEW House Of Black Status

Malakai Black was released by the WWE in June 2021. By July of that year, he debuted on AEW Dynamite.

He teased a “House of Black” stable through promos and vignettes shortly after his arrival. The stable officially debuted in January 2022.

Black started off very strong in AEW. Sadly, his run with the promotion didn’t live up to expectations.

He recently got a “conditional” release from the company. So, what will happen to the House of Black now that their leader is gone?

AEW House Of Black Status – Business As Usual

As per reports, AEW will hold onto the faction concept for now. With that said, the company has filed a “House of Black” trademark application for merchandising purposes.

While Black was released earlier this month, there is a belief that there are heavy restrictions on him. Likely something that prevents him from wrestling with any other promotion, any time soon.

Still, PW Insider has reported that the AEW door is not closed for Black to return. Only time will tell.

While one AEW stable concept will remain, another seems to be “halted until further notice”. See more on this story, below.

Highlighting the stable of the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, a.k.a. The Elite, the show documents their ups and downs in the land of professional wrestling. They also have fellow wrestling friends on the show, now and again.

The YouTube series started in 2019. It seems that it’s now on hiatus until further notice.

They’re On A Break …

New episodes drop every Monday. Sadly, this didn’t happen this week.

As most fans know, the Young Bucks and Omega have been suspended. This is all due to the backstage brawl that occurred with CM Punk and Ace Steel after the All Out pay-per-view.

As it appears, not only does the suspension affect in-ring activity, but the Being The Elite YouTube series too. Only time will tell when things start up again for the show.

During the All Out post-event media scrum, CM Punk went on a rant about the Elite, as well as Colt Cabana, and Adam Page. After the fact, Omega and Bucks confronted Punk backstage, along with his friend and trainer, Ace Steel.

Reports indicate that there was a physical altercation between the men. Suspensions were handed down to all those involved.

As a result of these suspensions, Punk vacated the AEW World Championship. The World Trios titles were vacated by the Bucks and Omega.

The new holders of the Trios titles went to Death Triangle, who defeated Orange Cassidy and Best Friends. Meanwhile, a tournament is still underway for the AEW World title.

Semifinals are set to take place this week, with Chris Jericho facing Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley against Sammy Guevara. The winners of both matches will move on to the finals, taking place on the September 21st Dynamite show.
