The wrestling world is still buzzing about John Laurinaitis being fired from the WWE. WNZ has more information on his release, down below.
John Laurinaitis WWE Release
According to Fightful Select, Laurinaitis was fired from the company last week. As per the report, he was still receiving company emails until HHH was named his replacement.
Apparently, Jhttps://twitter.com/Fightful/status/1556988673182162945ohn was included in WWE emails sent company-wide, which contained sensitive information about personnel and creative matters. The report also reveals that Laurinaitis was removed from the email lists briefly during SmackDown’s July 22nd episode.
However, the report states he was then added back the following week. Another interesting tidbit was that John’s name has been included on the internal termination list.
The report also notes that Vince McMahon’s name was supposedly on that list, too. A number of WWE talents are apparently happy that they don’t have to deal with John anymore.
One major star even stated that he is the “biggest snake” in the business. Sounds like most of the roster is happy Trips is in charge now.

When the hush money scandal hit the news, John was placed on admin leave during investigations. When Vince McMahon recently retired, his daughter Stephanie assumed the co-CEO role with Nick Khan, and her hubby Triple H took over Laurinaitis’s role.
John first started with the WWE as a road agent in 2001. He was promoted to Director of Talent Relations, and then in 2009, become Executive Vice President.
Laurinaitis would dive into storylines in 2011 as Monday Night RAW’s General Manager. In 2012, he became a road agent again and was named Head of Talent Relations in 2021.
Over to news in the AEW, while the promotion gets a ton of praise for the content they produce, one criticism is their women’s division. Would an all-female show help fix this with the fans?
AEW Plans All-Women’s Show?
AEW’s women’s division has gotten better recently. However, there is always room for improvement.

Interestingly enough, the company has filed for a trademark as of late. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio chimes in on this during his latest episode.
Meltzer notes judging by the registration, it seems like this could be an all-women’s TV, streaming, wrestling, or reality show. Although Dave does not think it will be a women’s reality TV show.
Meltzer states the fact that AEW went through with registering a trademark means that they are serious about this. Doing so shows the company expects to do something of this sort, at some point in the future.
What Could Tony Khan Have Planned?
Could Tony Khan plan on doing an all-women’s reality show, like Total Divas, or perhaps a pay-per-view (PPV) like Evolution? Either way, they’d be ripping a page out of the WWE handbook.
With that said, both Total Divas and the Evolution PPV helped to boost support for the women’s wrestling revolution within the company. Total Divas ushered in a new fan base, while Evolution proved that the female talent could handle a show on their own.
Although, AEW could have something entirely different planned to place a spotlight on their women’s division. Only time will tell.
