Bellator 284 Results: Goiti Yamauchi Finishes Off Neiman Gracie

Goiti Yamauchi scored a main event victory Friday night at Bellator 284.

Yamauchi finished Neiman Gracie in the first round. The event aired live on Showtime from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The 29-year-old Yamauchi improved to 28-5 overall and pushed his current win streak to three in a row. He has won six of his last seven overall, with five of those being finishes.

“It feels amazing. It’s a product of hard work, courage, and a lot of dedication, not just for this camp, but for my entire life I’ve been working to have this moment,” he said. “This moment, I consider the beginning of an era, my era; the best time of my life. All I can say is thanks to everyone that watched.

“I’m a very defensive fighter; I don’t get hit in the competition. I don’t know what happened — I went ‘Beast Mode.’ I just wanted to take some shots and make the fight dramatic. ‘Big drama show.’ I went for it in this fight, and it worked.”

In the co-main event, Valentin Moldavsky and Steve Mowry had their bout stopped after an accidental eye poke.

Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, Gokham Saricam and Aaron Jeffery were other main card winners. Macfarlane topped Bruna Ellen and Jeffery knocked out recent middleweight title contender Austin Vanderford.

On the prelims, Pat Downey made his debut with a 36-second submission.
