UFC 275: What’s Next For Valentina Shevchenko With Another Win?

If Valentina Shevchenko secures another title defense at UFC 275, what’s next?

Shevchenko, the reigning UFC flyweight champion, puts her belt on the line this Saturday night vs. Taila Santos. The bout is the co-main event for the card from Singapore, as Glover Teixeira defends his light heavyweight title vs. Jiri Prochazka.

For Shevchenko, this will be her seventh title defense. She won the vacant belt all the way back in 2018 with a decision over Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Since that time, she has reeled off impressive finishes of Lauren Murphy, Jessica Andrade, Katlyn Chookagian and Jessica Eye. Shevchenko has also topped both Jennifer Maia and current Bellator champion Liz Carmouche via decision.

Needless to say, the division has been controlled by Shevchenko.

She currently holds the UFC record for most consecutive wins in the division, most title defenses and most knockout wins. She also holds victories over four current or former UFC champions in Holly Holm, Julianna Pena, Jedrzejczyk and Andrade.

Without a doubt, this is a hall of fame career.

Oh, she also went 57-2 in her kickboxing run.

At 34 years old, this could be one of the final times we see Shevchenko compete. And we need to make sure we enjoy the greatness of the “Bullet.”
