Three Details You Missed During WrestleMania Backlash

WrestleMania Backlash

The off-ramp from the road to WrestleMania ended with the WrestleMania Backlash PPV Premium Live Event. The card featured multiple rematches from this year’s Show of Shows, including an I Quit match between Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair and the grudge match between Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins.

Rollins & Cody both try the Pedigree.

The show started with an instant classic as Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins tore the house down in an absolute banger of an opener. The match dripped with psychology as both men referenced their pasts and public and private feuds. Both men attempted Triple H’s signature Pedigree.

Cody tried and failed the move.

Seth hit him on the second attempt.

During Cody’s time in AEW. He alluded not-too-subtly to his angst with his former boss and on-screen antagonist, Triple H., Including destroying a Triple H style throne during one of his entrances.

Edge’s Posters

Edge has been back to “Rated R Superstar” form over the last few months. He is now creating a Brood-Esque faction with Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley (which was teased for weeks). Edge is feeling self-referential as he revives old gimmicks and even PPV posters. His use of scales mirrors his Judgement Day poster, and for WrestleMania Backlash, the Ultimate Opportunist gave us a tribute to the other time Edge starred at the Backlash PPV.

The Bloodline Continues Their Dominance

The main event was a beauty of a six-man tag as The Bloodline took on RK-Bro & Drew McIntyre. The match ended with Roman Reigns securing the pin on Riddle following a devastating spear.

The main event ended with shots of a triumphant Bloodline and an angry Drew McIntyre. McIntyre is headed for a feud with Reigns.

Roman is back in the gym after the match, and the Tribal Chief fed the rumors that he may be taking a step back.

Will he surrender the belt, or will someone beat Reigns for the titles?
