WWE is on the Road to WrestleMania 38, as the card is currently being molded and shaped. While the creative team is moving forward with some pitched ideas, a report indicates that a major match was nixed.

Major WrestleMania 38 Match Nixed

According to Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport, WWE was seriously thinking about a huge WM 38 bout involving the Four Horsewomen. The plan was for this match to close on Night 1 of the company’s flagship event.

The bout was to feature Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Sasha Banks in a Fatal Four-Way. There would have been “winner takes all” concept around the RAW Women’s Championship (currently held by Lynch) and SmackDown Women’s title (currently held by Flair).

Major WrestleMania 38 Match Scrapped … Thanks To Ronda Rousey

As per the report, the match was scrapped for a few reasons. However, the main one was Ronda Rousey’s return.

The idea was first entertained when Ronda ruled out a ‘Mania return in December 2021. When Rousey revealed she would be available for WM 38, the company made changes to the card.

In addition, there were a number of people within the WWE interested in seeing the Bianca Belair versus Becky Lynch storyline culminate at WrestleMania 38. Therefore, the reasoning behind the dream match being cut is two-fold.

Currently, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch are booked for the Grandest Stage of Them All. Big Time Becks is facing Belair, while Flair is booked to defend her title against Ronda Rousey.

Meanwhile, Bayley is currently recovering from her torn ACL, and nothing is planned (as of yet) for Sasha. Only time will tell.

Speaking of “recovering”, there was a scary spot at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view this past Saturday. WNZ has an update on the superstar who dealt with the “bump”, below.

Superstar Update After Scary Spot

Madcap Moss was involved in a scary spot during his Elimination Chamber match with Drew McIntyre. He landed on his head during an Alabama Slam.

According to Fightful Select, there is no heat on either superstar. McIntyre is thought to be a safe worker in general and was very concerned about Moss after the incident.

The report further notes that Moss was fine, and not injured. He also assured both Drew and the referee (Happy Corbin) that he was okay, all during the bout.

Madcap Moss Apologized

When he went backstage, Madcap did not seem shaken in the least. He apologized to both Drew and Vince McMahon, plus the agents, as they were the ones who went over the move and match.

The report also states that the spot where Happy Corbin pulled Moss out of the way, was preplanned. A welcomed placement as he did land on his head.

All’s well that ends well. Thankfully Moss was not hurt or seriously injured.

However, this incident goes to prove that even the most careful and experienced superstars can have a slip up while in the ring. Talent really does take a chance with their health and livelihood every time they step into the ring.
