In a recent interview, X-Pac revealed everything about a conversation he had with Triple H after his emergency surgery. And it seems that the former DX member got quite emotional about his friend.
X-Pac Gets Emotional About Conversation With Triple H
During a recent interview, X-Pac lifted the lid on his friendship with Triple H. And apparently, the wrestler got quite upset when he heard the news about The Game.
“I haven’t talked to him on the phone, but we had this running joke, Paul and I. We’d be talking forever, be on the phone for an hour or two, and finally, whenever it was time for Paul to get off the phone, he’d go, ‘Are you going to be around later?’ And he never called me later.”
“It was just, it’s time to take this home. I heard the news just like everyone else, and I just texted him, ‘Hey man, I’m glad you’re gonna be around later,’ and he just said, ‘Me too. Love you, kiddo,’ and that’s it. That’s the extent of what I know. I wasn’t gonna say, ‘Tell me what happened.’ I don’t need to know. I just need to know he’s okay (Waltman started choking up).”
Fortunately, Triple H came out of his surgery okay. However, it is safe to say that it was a true shock for the wrestling world.
Praising What Triple H Did For The Wrestling Industry
With the arrival of AEW, it is easy to forget about the contributions Triple H made to the wrestling industry. While he may not always talk about it, he did make a huge difference in the WWE.
And X-Pac sees it very much in the same way. In his interview, he praised his friend for everything he did for the WWE and the wrestling industry as a whole.
“The health of the entire industry outside of WWE probably wouldn’t be what it is right now if it wasn’t for him, which maybe (laughs) that’s why he has heat right now. He picked the whole business up. Picked WWE up, but at the same time, it raised the awareness of a lot of stuff. They have some of it on the Network. They host ICW out of Scotland, things like that. I’m grateful for that because regardless of what somebody corporate might think, that’s good for everyone.”
Based on X-Pac’s statements after The Game’s surgery, it seems that Triple H has gone against corporate quite often. But when you look at NXT when Triple H ran it, that was obvious.
Unfortunately, the rebrand has not done NXT any favors. When Triple H was still in charge, they were still a competitor for rival brand WWE.
Most wrestlers who work for the WWE want Triple H to take over the promotion. But for now, it seems Vince McMahon has no intention of retiring.
Triple H also seems to be doing well after his surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully he will be back on his feet in minimal time.
