Some new AEW game footage has popped up on official channels recently. And it seems like the development of the game is heading in the right direction.
New AEW Game Footage Revealed

AEW games recently discussed the upcoming AEW game. To give fans a little more insight into what to expect, we had some lovely footage show up on the AEW Game channel.
The initial footage is quite promising to say the least. And while the game is still in development, it certainly looks very intriguing.
One of the things that stood out the most is that the game will actually have a lock-up. This is something that no 2K WWE game ever brought forward.
The show also showcased some popular moves from wrestlers such as Jungle Boy. One of these moves included a springboard tornado DDT.

Jungle Boy seems to have a well-rounded and developed character already. But he was not the only wrestler being showcased.
In addition to Jungle Boy, there was also a showcase for Darby Allin. Considering these are the two most popular wrestlers in AEW, it’s no surprise that they were selected for the job.
Of course, the game is far from finished. This was even mentioned in the game footage, stating the game is still in development.
It is likely that changes will take place over the course of the next year. However, the early footage looks extremely promising for wrestling fans throughout the world.
When Will The New AEW Game Be Released?

AEW has not revealed any release date for the game. However, Kenny Omega has made some statements regarding the game release.
Omega has been closely involved with the development of the game. This gives wrestling fans hope for an excellent release, as Omega is known to favor some of the best games out there.
In a previous interview, Kenny Omega stated he hoped the game would be ready in early 2022.
Of course, as you know from the game industry, this is far from a certainty.
Release dates are fickle to say the least. After all, there is beta testing as well as bug fixes to take into account.
Contrary to most, I hope that AEW takes the time to fully develop the game before releasing it. While I understand they must turn a profit, I do not want it to turn into another WWE 2K.
The last 2K games for WWE have been absolutely awful. And I don’t even want to mention WWE Battlegrounds.
Unfortunately, Battlegrounds was nothing more than a quick cash grab. There was little substance to the game, but plenty of in-game purchase opportunities.
When the AEW game comes out, I’d rather pay more for a game with substance than an unfinished mess. But if I look at the AEW product overall, I am extremely hopeful for the game.
Soon, AEW may rival WWE in the gaming industry as well. I can’t wait to see what the company comes up with!
