WWE Offers Pete Dunne New Contract, Tag Team Set For Face Turn

Pete Dunne New Contract

WWE was in a “situation” of sorts when it realized that Pete Dunne’s contract had run-up. Adam Cole was in a similar circumstance, too. However, unlike Cole, Dunne was on NXT this week. Seems like he scored a new deal.

WWE Offers Pete Dunne New Contract

As per Fightful Select, Dunne was presented with a new contract recently. This happened over SummerSlam weekend.

No information on how long the contract is for. The report notes that the offer was confirmed by a WWE (anonymous) source.

More On The New Contract For Pete Dunne

There’s one thing to point out about this new deal for Dunne. The report did not indicate whether he re-signed with the company or not.

Pete started his wrestling training in 2006. He was only 12 years old at that time.

His first appearance was one year later in 2007. Dunne entered the land of NXT UK in 2016.

He’s had a fairly successful career on the black and gold brand over those years. He’s been NXT UK Champion and held the NXT Tag Titles with Matt Riddle.

Will fans continue to see Dunne on NXT television? Only time will tell …

Over to RAW, there seems like some flip-flopping between face and heel personas on the Red. First John Morrison, now the below tag team.

Tag Team Set For Face Turn

As per a report, current WWE plans see Mansoor and Mustafa Ali become a RAW babyface tag team moving forward. Their storyline has been a unique one.

Mansoor has been under Ali’s wing lately. The idea was for Mustafa to show the new talent the ropes.

PW Insider is reporting Mansoor and Ali will be a babyface team on RAW. Ali has been a heel to Mansoor’s face, and the two have had interesting friction.

It seems moving forward, both will be face. Should make for an interesting storyline.

The tag team will face Shanky and Veer next week. The two have had a feud with T-BAR and MACE, recently, too.

This Week’s RAW

During this week’s edition of RAW, Mansoor scored a win off Jinder Mahal, via DQ. The referee stopped the match as Mahal refused to stop stomping on Mansoor in the corner.

Before the bout, Mansoor asked Ali to not interfere in the match. He wanted to beat Mahal the “right way”.

Therefore, Ali turned his back on Mansoor while Jinder “stomped” him out in the corner. After the match, Mustafa questioned Mansoor.

He noted they can keep doing things Mansoor’s way, or try doing things Mustafa’s way. Ali also interrupted Mansoor’s post-RAW interview.

It’ll be interesting to see how this is all plays out. While Mustafa had a shaky ride with Retribution, he has been a top face in the past.

Mustafa entered the WWE landscape in 2016, via 205 LIVE. He caught Vince McMahon’s attention in 2018 and was sent to SmackDown.

In 2019, Ali was riding a high wave of momentum. Sadly, due to an injury, he was sidelined from the Elimination Chamber and has yet to find his groove back.

Meanwhile, Mansoor was one of eight talents in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to try out for the WWE. This was ahead of the first major event in this area, the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble.

Mansoor debuted in February 2019 at NXT. He would move on to win the 51-Man Battle Royal later that year at Super ShowDown in Jeddah.
