Over the years, there were countless AEW and WWE superstars who were much better as heels. But which made our top ten list of the best ones?
1. Charlotte Flair
When looking at our list of WWE and AEW superstars who are better heels, you cannot pass Charlotte Flair. After all, she is one of the most prominent wrestlers today.
Charlotte Flair is a 12-time women’s champion. And while she has competed as a face, she is a far better heel.
It is clear that Charlotte Flair inherited her heel skills from her father Ric Flair. And much like her father, her character thrives when she portrays a heel.
Of course, Flair is much more than a good heel. She is an outstanding wrestler, and her promo skills are out of this world!
2. Randy Orton
Next in our overview of WWE and AEW superstars who are better heels is none other than Randy Orton. Of course, the first thing you think about when you think of Orton is a heel.
Orton is a 14-time world champion and has always thrived as a heel. And while he had a few moments as a face, he was always a better heel.
Of course, being a heel is considered a strength for Orton. And with a moniker as “Legend Killer,” how could he go wrong?
3. The Young Bucks
The Young Bucks are one of the most popular tag teams in the world. However, they are also one of the teams that are better heels among countless AEW and WWE superstars.
Of course, The Young Bucks are not only great heels inside the ring. They are not above some online trolling of their rivals and critics.
Nobody should underestimate The Bucks, especially if they are in full heel form.
4. Kenny Omega
I am a huge Kenny Omega fan, and who can blame me? After all, he is one of the best wrestlers to ever step inside the ropes.
But in spite of my natural love for Kenny Omega, I will not deny that he is a better heel. Even his normal persona matches a heel character.
From Japan to the United States, there is not much Kenny Omega has not conquered. And despite getting older, he is better than ever with Don Callis by his side.
Love him or hate him, nobody can deny Kenny Omega is still one of the hottest commodities in the wrestling business.
5. Roman Reigns
The WWE spent ages trying to get Roman Reigns over with the crowd. But, their efforts fell into deaf ears with the WWE Universe.
However, things changed when Roman Reigns started to align himself with Paul Heyman and turned heel. Since then, Roman Reigns is definitely one of the AEW and WWE superstars who are better heels.
Roman’s heel character also had countless benefits for his wrestling career as a whole. In fact, Roman Reigns became much more complex and finally a serious competitor.
6. Britt Baker
Britt Baker was supposed to be the face of the women’s division. Naturally, this is far from the heel persona she is today.
It soon became clear that Britt Baker had a lot more heel potential. And this turn happened in January, 2020.
Much like Roman Reigns, Britt Baker’s career has flourished as a heel. Her heel persona also helped her take her mic skills to a whole new level.
On top of that, Britt’s heel persona also put her in line for a women’s championship opportunity. At this point, it is only a matter of time.
7. AJ Styles
Since his arrival in the WWE, AJ Styles has always been a fan favorite. And while I have enjoyed both his heel and face work, his heel persona certainly elevates his character.
Styles signed with the WWE in January of 2016 and he has had some noteworthy feuds since then. One of them included a huge feud with the face of the company John Cena.
AJ Styles is an excellent heel and villain, which puts some of the other superstars to shame. And despite the fact he is 43 years old, he certainly can keep up with the younger generation.
8. The Miz
The Miz never had the easiest time getting to the top in the WWE. Not only did he suffer poor treatment at the hands of JBL, he also had to deal with skeptical fans.
Fifteen years later, The Miz is a true A-lister. But his resilience in the business also gave him something extra, a heel persona most people can be jealous of.
Miz has also done brilliantly outside of the WWE. In fact, he has his own reality show alongside his wife Maryse.
With his own blend of reality and fiction in his burns, nobody does heel like The Miz.
9. Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss is popular whether she is a heel of a face. That being said, she has done some of her best work as a heel persona.
Looking back, Alexa Bliss also had the majority of her championship reigns as a heel. In the past, this gave her feuds with the likes of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.
Recently, Bliss became the protégé of The Fiend. This recent character change has benefited her greatly, mainly because Alexa is great as an actress.
Let’s hope this character is here to stay.
Elias is one of those rare WWE superstars who is not only better as a heel, but is loved as a heel. In fact, his annoying singer persona can count on the support of the WWE Universe.
WWE superstar Elias has a rare gift of really getting to fans in attendance. It was so bad at one point, the crowd actually booed Elias and Kevin Owens right out of the building.
Needless to say, Elias is easily a top heel inside the company. Time will tell if this actually leads to any decent championship opportunities.
Did we list your pick for one of the top 10 heels? If not, let us know in the comments.
